    History

    The Domaine des Riottes in Meursault, which owns four hectares of vines, offers a lovely range of Côte de Beaune wines.

    Origin

    In the northwest of the Côte de Beaune, the vineyard overlooks the picturesque village of Ladoix-Serrigny. Located on the heights of the Corton hill, the Climat « Les Hautes Mourottes » is on the edge of the Grands Crus of Corton.

    Soil

    Rocky and reddish limestone and enough marl to make it ideal for white wines.

    Vinification

    Traditional vinification. The grapes are pressed immediately upon arrival at the winery in pneumatic presses. The alcoholic fermentation is carried in stainless steel vats.

    A light golden yellow in colour.

    Nose

    Beautiful expression of terroir with a minerality that characterises the hillside of Ladoix with its notes of chalk and warm stone.

    Palate

    On the palate fine woody notes bring the richness on the finish.

    Marries perfectly with tender meat, such as poultry in a beautiful creamy sauce.

    Ideal Conditions for High-Quality Wines

    The 2018 vintage in the Côte de Beaune benefited from ideal conditions throughout the vine's growing cycle. After a cold winter and generous spring rains recharging the water reserves, fine weather settled in from May. Generous sunshine and warm temperatures without excess allowed harmonious vineyard development.

    The hot and dry summer did not cause water stress thanks to the reserves accumulated in spring. Cool nights also preserved the acidity and aromatic freshness of the grapes. The harvest took place under ideal conditions between late August and mid-September depending on the sectors, with generous but controlled yields.

    White Wines

    The 2018 Côte de Beaune white wines are distinguished by their incredible aromatic complexity, explosive on the nose with white fruits and citrus. On the palate, they combine great concentration, superb mineral freshness, and a strong expression of the terroir.

    Red Wines

    The 2018 red wines from the Côte de Beaune display an intense ruby robe and gourmand nose of fresh red fruits and sweet spices. These are structured and powerful wines with fine and elegant tannins, perfectly reflecting their different terroirs. This sunny and balanced vintage offers Côte de Beaune wines of great concentration with lots of substance and smoothness, but also superb freshness and tension.
